In 2021, I notched up my 250th parkrun. So far, I’ve run over 60 different parkrun events in 12 different countries. Shortly before the event, I am usually to be found scouring the internet for the answers to the same few questions; what footwear do I need? How much time do I need to factor in for parking and the inevitable pre-run wee? How hard is the course?
Although some of these questions can be answered by checking the parkrun’s website, I am putting the knowledge gained during my parkrun adventures into a (hopefully) handy guide.
Each parkrun guide covers the following categories:
Introduction | Where and when |
Getting There | How to get there by car and public transport |
Parking | Where to park and how much it costs |
Toilets | All important for a woman of a certain age |
Course | Strava Segment |
Terrain | Hills, mud, obstacles… |
Shoes | Trainers or Trail? |
Difficulty | Run Britain UK Rakings and elevation |
Fun Factor | Did I enjoy it? |
Where we Stayed | Accommodation details (if we stayed overnight) |
Nearby Attractions | Other places to visit while you’re in the area |
